Weathering the Weather!!

We have had some cold weather to deal with so far this month but we are weathering the weather!! So far this month we have been busy learning all about ourselves and our similarities and differences to each other. We also realized that not all families are the same and the differences in ourselves and our families is what makes us unique and special. It will be fun on Tuesday to guess who is who in our beautiful baby picture contest.We have finished up our alphabet book and will be taking it home soon! We are well on our way with our Jolly Phonics Program! The students seem to be loving the letter sounds and making words! With our shape unit behind us we are focusing on counting, number recognition, sorting and patterns. A visit from Justin who taught us about bus safety was a fun special activity! Timmy the puppet was a favourite. We have started reading Gingerbread Man stories and are discovering all the different types of stories there are when it comes to gingerbread characters! Once again we can talk about similarities and differences. We are looking forward to doing many many gingerbread man projects which highlight different literacy and numeracy skills!
