March Colours!!

Outside might have been mostly white this month, but not in our classroom!! We made beautiful rainbows to make our room shine and did two very exciting experiments with colour. The first experiment used baking soda and food colouring in vinegar. When the colour was added to our plate of baking soda we saw explosions of colours and even saw new colours appear by mixing colours! Sorry no pictures of this one. In the next colour experiment we dropped food colouring on top of warm milk and when dish soap was added on top the colours mixed on their own, swirling and making amazing patterns and colour arrangements. It was a spectacular colour show!! Green was also a popular colour this month with thoughts of green leprechauns that could be caught in the leprechaun traps the students created. There was a lot of excitement making the traps and the students weren't too disappointed when they didn't catch a leprechaun, but found his pot of gold, with chocolate coins instead!
