April Showers

April has blessed us with a lot of moisture, so we have had to busy ourselves inside using our imaginations to play in a castle in the sky. The students had a great time playing Jack and the Beanstalk with the lower loft being Jack's home and the upper loft being the Giant's castle. Our real beanstalks are growing and we hope they reach a castle as well. One highlight this month was a visit from the Easter bunny who shared some candy with the students. The students liked creating their own beautiful paper Easter eggs experimenting with shaving cream and food colouring. Our special Mother's Day Project pictures will have to be under wrap until after Mother's Day!

Fun Times in April!!!

April is off to a great start with lots of exciting things happening in our classroom!! First of all there was a visit from The Medicine River Wildlife Center in which we learned about rescued animals, pollution being a problem for wild animals and we saw a real live American Kestrel, part of the Falcon family. Next we learned all about wheat. How it is grown, harvested and made into flour. The best part was making bread and preparing a cinnamon twist! Excellent information and excellent eating too! We are awesome bakers!! The students also got to play with many special centers to do with the wheat and baking theme and even tried out our brand new loft! Looking forward to the rest of April and some spring weather!
